About
Dr. Rhian Daniel
Dr. Rhian Daniel is a true world traveler, explorer of self/Self, and goal achiever. After being kicked out of high school when he turned 16, he traveled the world for 16 years, living in six different countries and traveling through over thirty others before pausing to complete his GED, BSc, MA, and PhD.
Always testing the concept of humans having a purpose-in-life, Rhian competed his PhD with a dissertation that examined the place of the Wilderness Rites of Passage ritual, a adaption of the Native American vision quest ritual, in modern Western culture. A significant finding in his work was how little vocation plays in the concept of purpose-in-life. Consequently, he now helps clients reconnect with their inner values, cultivate meaning, and align their personal and professional lives with a greater sense of wholeness to achieve the sense of purpose.
After being kicked out of high school at 16, and with no degree or skilled trade to fall back on, Rhian set out to experience anything, any job or experience that looked interesting or fun—fundamentally, with unbridled freedom, on a search for “purpose”.
Over the next 16 years, in various places around the world, he played a variety of roles including, apprentice chef, grave digger, english teacher, A/V and video producer, desk top publisher, illusionist assistant, SCUBA instructor, photographer, medical imaging specialist, creator of surgical training programs, and a physician trainer.
During this 16-year period, with a deep curiosity about one’s life calling, he regularly undertook courses, trainings, or classes in transpersonal psychology, ultimately discovering one’s calling requires a shift beyond success and external achievement toward deeper self-awareness, purpose, and fulfillment. He now Integrates transpersonal psychology with practical insight to foster clarity, resilience, and meaning in people’s work and lives.
A lover of cultures, unique cultural qualities, and cultural differences, he is an Australian born Australian-American, of French-Italian ancestry, and considers his cultural heritage to be southern European. He is a leader of wilderness rites of passage rituals, a lover of nature and indigenous cultures, and holds great reverence for indigenous spirituality and their symbiosis with nature. And, while he still enjoys Australian Rules Football, his passion is cricket and following the Australian cricket team–although his greatest joy comes from time spent with his daughter Scarlett.
